Engadine Dragons has had a strong relationship with the Bradman Foundation that dates back to the 2001/2002 season when we sent our first two Under 12 players to the Bradman Camp as part of the EDCC Bradman Foundation Scholarship.
Through the Foundation, Sir Donald encouraged an active program of youth cricket in Australia. The Bradman Camps held annually at Bradman Oval, Bowral, continue to uphold the spirit of "the Don" and ensures his memory will live on in the game. Bradman Foundation 2008
The scholarship has assisted in improving the skill levels of our junior cricketers and one of the reasons why EDCC is the strong club it is today.
We extended our relationship with the Bradman Foundation in the 2005/2006 season when we held our inaugural Bradman Challenge Match at the historic Bradman Oval in Bowral, with our second game played on 21 April 2007.
Two teams of our Under 16 players, face off against each other in a fun one day cricket match.
The spirit that these games have been played in has been first class. The players have all commented that this has been one of their most memorable cricket experiences to date.

This initiative is aimed at rewarding and recognising our Under 16 players as they finish up their junior cricket careers. We are looking to encourage these young men to continue with their cricket careers, whether it is playing for the Sutherland Grade Club or Senior Men’s Cricket with the Dragons. |

We are seeking to make this a permanent fixture on our calendar for junior cricketers within our club. |

Bradman Match 2008/09
The conclusion of another successful season was marked with the annual Bradman Challenge match played on the picturesque Bradman Oval at Bowral. On Saturday April 18 our U/16 boys don their whites for the final time this season on a glorious sunny autumn day.
The match is a reward for our U/16 players who are in their final years of junior cricket and is played using the introductory format thus giving all the players the opportunity to maximise their experience.
Bradman Match 2007/08
Unfortunately our 3rd Annual Bradman Challenge Match at Bradman Oval was cancelled due to wet weather.
This was a disappointing outcome but when you play on turf and receive as much rain as Bowral did over the week before the game, it was always going to be difficult to get on and play.
Most of second year 16 players had the great opportunity to play on this ground last year, whilst for the other younger boys, there is always next year.
Thanks once again to the Bradman Foundation in supporting our club and we look forward to returning next year as it is a unique opportunity to play on a ground with the status and quality of Bradman Oval.
We continue to believe it is a marvellous way for our Under 16 boys to finish off their junior careers with the Dragons.
