Welcome back to all our juniors sides as we head towards the last couple of rounds for the season. Round No.8 saw 7 wins from 13 matches with our 16C, 12A, 12C, 10C and 10E teams all in with a chance of making the Finals if the results go their way. Although the Club has slipped to 5th place in the SSJCA Club Championship we are only 5 points behind 1st so there is still a chance we could challenge for the ‘Cup’ with a big performance from all our junior teams in the last two rounds. Best batting and bowling this round came from our joint ‘Intermediate Players of the Round’ – Cameron Westlake with 81 runs in his 16A team’s valuable win over Miranda and Connor Kalikazaros who bowled well to take 4 for 12 in his 16C team’s narrow defeat to St. Patricks. ‘Junior Player of the Round’ – Patrick Hughes had the great bowling figures of 3 for 0 and then backed it up with the bat to score 12 not out in his 12D teams win over Sports. Other notable efforts came from Hamish Jacka (14C) 57, Lachlan Ritchie (12A) 47, William Whitehouse (16A) 39, Taj Allen (14C) 39, Zack Johnson (16C) 3 for 2, Thal Wheatley (14C) 3 for 12 with the best fielding of the round going to Beau McInerney with 2 catches and 2 run outs.

In the modified division our mighty U8 team gained revenge against Sports the only team to beat them this season with the Dragons 8 for 83 defeating Sports 13 for 63. Best performers were Thomas Wheatley 3 for 4 & 13 runs, Kobi Newton 3 for 8, Jayden Dundas 2 for 5 & 15, Ryan Lillis 17 runs & 1 for 4 and Lucas Cousemacker 14 runs & 1 for 15. Our 10E side had big win over Como-Jannali with the Browncombe boys both having great all round matches with Zack taking 2 for 4 & 8 runs and Mitchell with 2 for 10 & 5 runs. Other good contributions came from Oliver Te Hira 16 runs, Brodie Moore 13 runs and Dylan Kerr 2 for 10.
