As we head into the last round of the junior competition our 16C side looks to be our only definite Premiership contender, although if the results go the right way in Round No.10 our 10E team could also slip into the Final as well.

Round No.9 was reduced to a one day format for the second Saturday when week one was abandoned due to extreme heat conditions. In a number of close fought matches Dragons were able to gain the points in 16C (bye), 12D, 10A, 10E and U8 Blue with a number of our other seven sides going down by the smallest of margins. In a round of low scoring matches ball dominated bat on most occasions with Ethan Nance (14B) 2 for 6 taking out the ‘Intermediate Player of the Round’ with Koby Wallace (10A) 34 reversing the trend to be ‘Junior Player of the Round’ with a match winning innings. Other good performances came from Andrew Ritchie (16A) 42, Patrick Hughes (12D) 4 for 4, Kyle Marr (12D) 2 for 0, Tyler Cussen (14A) 2 for 10 and Zac McLoughlin (16A) 2 for 15.
