On behalf of Engadine Dragons Cricket Club I would like to welcome all new players, returning players, parents and supporters for the 2017/18 season.

With many changes to both formats, scoring and administration of the game, it has been a monumental effort from everyone involved to get things up and running.

A big thank you to the people involved in registrations and team selections, a time consuming task at the best of times.

Without coaches and managers a club and the various teams cannot get on the field. Thank you to all of you who have put your hand up to fill those roles.

Both Tim Russell and Chris Moreland have done a fantastic job as our promotions and social media officers. They have secured a substantial number of sponsors for the club which assists in paying for equipment, keeping fees down and helping towards the end of season social events the club runs. Remember to please try and support our sponsors when you can. They are listed in this newsletter.

I was lucky enough to get around to a couple of our U10 games in round 1 and enjoyed seeing the smiles on the young player’s faces.

There were some outstanding performances in both the junior and senior teams throughout the club in this round. These can be found later in this newsletter or on the MyCricket website.

Please remember our Facebook page is a major source of promoting the club and its members. Please “Follow” this page if you haven’t already done so and “like” as many items as possible as this provides good exposure for our club, its members and sponsors. You are also welcome to provide team photos or group photos as long as parents are happy to do so.

The club is still taking registrations for the U8’s T20 Blast starting the 14th Oct. This is a great introduction to the game for boys and girls and is held up at Kareela Oval on a Saturday morning. If you know of anyone who may be interested please pass on the following link to find out more and register

Finally please pass the word around in regard to our partnership with the Engadine School Holiday Cricket Camp at Anzac Oval being held on Oct 4-6. Details are on our website and Facebook page.
This is a really excellent local initiative to provide a fun environment for boys and girls in the Engadine area.
