Steve managed junior teams and initially joined the committee in 2001/02 and was the Minutes Secretary from 2002/03 to 2004/05 before going on to serve as Vice President in 2005/06 and President for 9 seasons from 2006/07 to 2014/15. Steve was our club’s delegate to the “Anzac Youth & Recreation Centre’s 527 Committee” for 13 seasons commencing in 2006/07.
Steve has been the MC of our Junior Presentation for 14 seasons and 13 seasons for our Senior Presentations commencing in 2007/08. During this period he has also MD’d all our club’s social events. Steve was Awarded Life Membership of the club in 2015.
His son Andrew played junior and senior cricket for the club and was awarded the “Greg Heffernan Fielding Trophy” in 2000/01 and was the inaugural recipient of the “Bradman Foundation Scholarship” in 2001/02. Andrew was a regular member of SSJCA representative teams for 5 seasons including the 2000/01 Foster Shield Premiers.
