He was rewarded with Life Membership in 1985 and his name perpetuated on the "Intermediate Division Bowling Performance Award" trophy in 1997. One of Alf's greatest contributions to the Club was as the leader of the "Magnificent Seven", a group of blokes, mainly club members, who for almost three years regularly ran meat tray raffles at the Engadine Hotel and in that time raised over $7,000 for the club. - Clem Heffernan (1992)
