Hi and welcome to the girls for their first season of cricket. Our first game was against Illawong-Menai who ended up being a very strong opposition with some very good players but the girls were eager to play cricket and have some fun.

Although we lost by 5 runs, the batting was entertaining with all parents enjoying the good shots played by Zoe, Gabby, Tarni, Meghan and Rebekah with great running by Mikayla, Kelsey, Emily, Rebecca and Jemima. Young Zoe played brilliantly for the teams highest runs off the bat (9) earning her the McDonalds player of the round. Our wicket takers were Rebekah and Kelsey who bowled straight and were unlucky not to get more as were all the other girls. Keep practising, the wickets will follow and you will improve.

I am very proud of all the girls who played in the spirit of the game and who are a pleasure to coach. I look forward to the remainder of the season. Thanks to Steve and Andrew Jones who looked after the girls in week 1 while I was away. It is appreciated.
