10A's Match Report
Round 2 V St Pats
Season 2009-10

Round 2 saw there boys make the first appearance at home. On a windy and dusty morning St Pats won the toss and decided to bat. Despite the difficult conditions the boys stuck to there guns and restricted St Pats to 138 off there 50 over’s. Once again the catching was outstanding with Dylan, Matt, Nicholas, Josh S & Josh P each taking a catch. The ground fielding was a little bit off, but this can be excused due to the state of the ground (or should I say cow paddock). The bowling was also impressive with the wickets being evenly distributed with Nicholas and Max picking up there first wickets in the U10’s.They were well supported by Ryan, Caleb and Ben Clarke. A special thank you to Cameron for filling in this week and for picking up a vital wicket.

Week 2 and the conditions were wet and overcast. A little bit of elbow grease along with some towels and the pitch was ready for play. Matt and Max were sent out to face the new ball. Matt went early and whilst Max didn’t score too many runs, the 30 minutes that he spent in the middle allowed our middle order to play there shots. Alex and Dylan put on 122 runs for the third wicket. Alex was retired out for 41 and Dylan retired out for 35. This allowed two of our younger players to have there first bat in the 10’s.Ryan played some good shoots until he received a great ball with Ben Clarke playing some great pull shots, ending up 4 not out. Caleb had limited chances but looked good. To the boys that didn’t get a bat in this game your opportunity will come.
