Engadine Dragons 8-98 Illawong Menai 9-115 result lost by 17 runs

Another close loss but the boys showed vast improvement and are close to a win. Our opponents had some very good bowlers and we lost wickets at crucial times to keep us on the back foot.

On the first day Illawong batted first and finished their stint at 85, losing 4wickets. Nathan took 2 wickets and Sean and Luke took 1 each.We only batted 2 pairs and finished the day at 52 for the loss of 2 wickets. Nathan and Koby gave us a solid start of 22 runs and Sean and Samual continued the good work with a 30run partnership.

The second Saturday was a very bleak day with rain and cold hampering our efforts to post a competitive total. Luke and Nick posted 17 runs, Marley and Spence scored 12 and Riley and Luke scored 17. When Illawong batted again we were able to restict them to 30 runs but they had enough runs to win the game. Luke, Nathan Nick and Marley(2) were the wicket takers.

Man of the match was shared by Nahan and Sean. Both have shown tremendous improvement in the last few weeks.
