Round 3 saw the boys return to Endeavour High School to play Como.

We knew that this would be a difficult game to win with Alex and Max missing due to school holidays and the Assistant Coach making his coaching debut. We were fortunate to have Andrew & Jacob from the 10C’s fill in. An early morning call from Caleb’s Dad to advise he was in bed sick would make the task just that little bit harder.

After winning the toss and deciding to field, our bowling was a below par. At the drinks break Como were 1-98 and looking like they would post a huge score. After some words of encourage the boys returned to the field and were able to restrict Como to 172, which was a great effort. The pick of the bowlers were Josh S with 2-13 and Andrew with 0-6. Ben Clarke also picked up his first wicket in the U10’s – Well Done Ben.

Week 2 and what can I say – Our batting was superb.

Max & Matt were sent out to face the new ball. After an excellent opening partnership, both were retired, Matt first on 54 not out & then Max on 52 not out.

This allowed the other boys to have a bat with Nic getting his first bat of the season and playing some good shots.

Once again thanks to Andrew & Jacob for filling in and a big thankyou to Como for lending us a sub fielder for week 1.
