This week the bowling was the highlight of the match. 14 of the boys 30 overs conceded only one no-ball or less. The fielding was also great, with two run-outs and some fine fielding in the deep. Each boy played well throughout the match, with the highlights as follows:

Beau bowled the ball of his cricketing career to claim his first wicket. It was lightning fast, straight and with one bounce hit middle stump. Beau was also solid behind the stumps at wicketkeeper and hit some nice balls with the bat. Beau won the Encouragement Award.

Daniel was a star with bat, hitting 4 fours and a three. Daniel scored 24 runs in a powerful batting display. Daniel also bowled a tidy spell, only conceding 3 runs.

Austin did a great job at wicket keeper, using all parts of his body to stop byes going past him. Austin hit the ball well and was unlucky not to score more runs.

Ryan batted well again, playing some nice cricket shots to all parts of the ground. Ryan’s bowling was terrific this game, with his first 3 overs only conceding one no-ball. Ryan chased the ball hard in the field and stopped one ball going to the boundary.

Joshua batted great, with one certain four being unfortunately stopped by the face of an opposition player. Joshua’s bowling was again a highlight, picking up a wicket and only conceding one no-ball from 3 of his four overs.

Adam’s bowling was outstanding, picking up a wicket and bowling a nice line and length. Adam made two run outs, one at distance and one stump to aim at. Adam hit some good shots with the bat.

Jesse fielded great and made an excellent throw to the stumps. Jesse hit the ball nicely and was unlucky not to score more runs. Jesse also bowled well and kept the runs down.

Luke bowled excellent, not conceding any no-balls and only three runs from his four overs. Luke also fielded well.

Thanks Blake and Akash for helping us out in week one. You both bowled and fielded terrific. Thanks Brett for running the side in week two.
