The boys enjoyed themselves again this game. The team continues to improve and play some nice cricket. The bowling was terrific again with 17 of the boys 30 overs conceded one no-ball or less. We also took our first catch this game. Each boy played well throughout the match and the highlights as follows:
Joshua supported his team mates by praising them if they bowled or fielded well. He was the first to the stumps for run-out opportunities and backed up when required. Josh also got a wicket and won the Encouragement Award.
Jesse bowled the best he has ever bowled and was rewarded with 3 wickets. Jesse bowled a nice line and length and made it difficult for the batsman. Great bowling Jesse!
Ryan’s bowled his first maiden over and if the stumps were any taller he could have got a few wickets. Ryan’s batting is great to watch - he moves his feet and plays the ball with a nice straight bat.
Daniel unleashed his power again with the bat, scoring 18 runs and 2 fours. One cover drive was so good, everyone just stopped and clapped. Daniel also picked up a couple of wickets.
Beau was on fire with the ball. He has improved so much over the last two matches, I expect he will be getting a call from the Australian selectors in no time at all. Beau also played some classical shots with the bat.
Austin bowled excellent this game. He bowled nice and straight, with his arm high and eyes on the stumps. Austin also did a great job at wicket keeper. Well done Austin!
Luke took his first ever catch, which was great to see. Luke also got a run-out. Luke batted nicely, with his innings including one memorable straight drive.
Adam bowled well again, bowling a nice line and length and making the batsman play at every ball. Nice work Adam!
Blake bowled well, picking up a wicket on the last ball of the match. Blake has a run up longer than all Australian fast bowlers and at one stage I thought we had lost him. Great bowling Blake, thanks for helping us out in week two.
Great game boys!
